Fires between Cody & Yellowstone

Just heard about the fires between Cody & Yellowstone and wondered if that would affect our trip. We are heading out 9/16, staying the first night at Casper then taking the Chief Josesph hiway to Yellowstone. (We have already driven the Beartooth) We need to stay at Mammoth Hot Springs 9/18 & 19 so need to find a hotel for the 17th. I thought of staying in Livingston the 17th but to do that we wouldn't drive the Joseph right?? The rest of the trip is all set.
