We drove from Casper to Cody a month ago. We spent the night in Thermopolis. I'd say that Thermopolis was about 2 hours from Casper.

I recommend Super 8 in Cooke City. I wrote a review on tripadvisor on them. I might stay in Silver Gate the next time though, to be a bit closer to Lamar.
