...you said you wanted to carry as little as possible. Bleach is the next best thing to nothing as far as carrying any form of treatment goes. I've heard very good things about the Sawyer system, but haven't tried it because A) it's more expensive than some other alternatives, and B) (biggest reason for me) if it freezes, the membrane is compromised. So if you're out and it's going to be cold enough, you have to sleep with it. It's not that big of deal to sleep with gear--BTDT--but throw all those things together and I'm happy sticking with what I have already, which is my Sweetwater filter. If I was just starting out or wanted to try something new, I'd look closely at the Sawyer system.
