June, especially the first half, isn't nearly so crowded, and it's so green and the baby critters are everywhere! My favorite time. But by early September, when most kids go back to school after Labor Day, is pretty darned nice, too.

If a ranger finds you pulled over by the side of the road snoozing in the middle of the night you'll be asked to move. Not legal as I'm sure you know.

Good place to stay in Cooke City is the Big Moose Resort. You will probably need to make reservations, though, they only have I think 5 cabins.

Did ya' see any scenery in the middle of the night going over the Beartooths? ;-)

Can't answer for Glacier, sorry.
